Our offer consists of paintings from around 1800 up to artworks by contemporary artists.
We particularly focus on Belgian and French Impressionism of the second half of the 19th century until the second half of the 20th century.
The origin of Belgian Impressionism dates back to 1883, when the artist group "Les XX" emerged. Almost all important French impressionists participated in the exhibitions held by this circle of artists, which was founded by Belgian painters.
This gave rise to the creation of Luminism in Belgium, a painting style related to Impressionism. Painters, whose artworks we present in our gallery, try to capture light and its visual effects.
Furthermore, we also offer selected artworks from the period of Fauvism and Expressionism.
