If you prefer to visit the Senteur show another time, you can do so from Monday, November 28 to Saturday, December 3.
Born 1975 in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Senteur spent his first crative years with illustrative art and pop art. Spring 2020 brought the COVID pandemic, a lot of time at the atelier and the knowledge: βTo banish the familiar motifs again in well known contours was no longer enough". With the new series of works "shattered dreams" a clearly more abstract period emerged, the result of a new perception of visual half-worlds with more and more personal reference. Fueled by the flood in the summer of 2021 and the accompanying destruction in the Ahr Valley, his works now present themselves increasingly "dissolving": Contours are broken up, figurative only hinted at, the once clear image is traversed by streaks. "Between me and the actual motif pushes another level. To visualize this and make it analogous to a distorted perception and / or fading memory, is the mystical moment of my pictures. The motifs show moments and images with the typical indistinctness of fading memory. So I also allow to distort "beautiful", because time now leaves traces. Not only on the surface...".
Just in time for the opening, we will additionally publish a virtual tour on Saturday, so that you will again have the opportunity to view the exhibition even without a personal visit...
