Günther Beckers

The art year 2019 starts with the solo exhibition of new works by the Aachen artist Günther Beckers in our premisis at Hartmannstreet 6. The exhibition will open with the vernissage on Friday, 8 March at 7 p.m. and can be seen until 23 March 2019.

 

 

Günther Beckers was born in Aachen in 1953. He allready exhibited in nomerous renowned international museums. From 1972 to 1977 he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and was a master student of Karl Bobek (1925-1992). In 1986 he received a scholarship from the Günther and Carola Peill Foundation and took part in the "International Biennale of Paper Art" in Düren in 1988. His solo exhibition "Vogelfluglinie" was shown in 1991 in Denmark, Finland, at the Leopold-Hoesch-Museum in Düren and at the city hall in Aachen. As a universally gifted artist, Beckers is also active as an author ("Traktat von der Gesamtheit der Künste"), musically ("Musik From memory", Amsterdam) and holds patent rights to furniture designs. In his expressive abstract compositions, Beckers attempts to combine the approaches of various artistic disciplines that the painter himself practises. In 2006 he founded together with René Böll - artist and son of Heinrich Böll - a own museum named "KünstlerMuseum Beckers ° Böll", where art is shown from an artist's point of view. Günther Beckers lived and worked in Finland and Denmark for several years.
